Not to be that person but this dude would have a field day with Stray Kids, God's Menu preferably and anything after is pretty good. KPOP still heavily depends on music videos and physical album sales. The game is so different when it comes to korea and even kdramas have changed drastically since the rise of kpop, literally anything before 2017 looked like the typical soap opera but now they have better transitions and effects to them which is pretty wild. Harry has his back turned as he descends the ladder and doesn't see the circus he's getting into - he spends much of the mv trying to escape it. I don't think it's a big stretch to suggest that's the 'media circus', who view him in a distorted way (the mirrors) and no matter how much he shouts (the megaphone), no-one listens (the woman plugging her ears). There are also hints about gender - he's the only male featured. He can't fly to his love because he's not a bluebird (they are all female). There are no steps down from the men's room in the trailer, only from the ladies room. The circus strongman is a woman - normally a male role.

Part of what helps Taylor look convincing as an alpha male type character, beyond the makeup and wardrobe, is how tall she is. At 5'-10" she's at the average height of an adult American male.

Good review of a great video. I bet you the horses in her bedroom were filmed separately, probably in front of a greenscreen, then added into the shots via VFX. She had that kind of budget for such effects. That deer is probably stuffed, with an animatronic head. It's quite possible the spinning apple effect was done on-location in-camera, with any hint of the fishing line cleaned up in post. The sports car used (especially for the smashing) is almost certainly an AC Cobra replica, easy to acquire and not too expensive, so her trashing the hood of it with the golf club was probably real, then enhanced with CGI and practical effects. The headlight smashing was probably CGI'd for safety reasons (no flying shards of glass) and possibly to achieve the best possible "break." I agree with you about the "burning" clothes she tosses from the balcony. The fire doesn't begin naturally. If the clothes were meant to burn, the filmmakers resorted to CGI for obvious safety reasons. Or they later decided to add the flames to make the footage more dramatic.

So much of this video is indebted to the Busby Berkeley/Esther Williams films of the 40's and 50's. Look 'em up! They are the reason I love this ! Those strange one piece white 'swimsuits' on the guys are similar to Esther's swimsuits in her movies ( ie, pre-bikinis) and may be an inside joke!
